SYNOPSIS:  My story is going to be looking at the livelihoods of people living in a township called Alexandra popular known as Gomora, analyze how they live, what economic challenges they face and affect them most importantly look how the government sector or state official try to assist them in times of need economic challenges such as over populations, no proper housing, littering as in dumping sites being near public roads, poverty, drug addiction as well as unemployment. The story then compares all these challenges faced by Alexandra residence with sentence a suburb where most government officials live to raise the question that are our leaders that are all too serious only serving themselves? Are we voting for people who later do not do anything to help us as people because a fact we cannot run away from is that while the poor remains poor the rich get richer which is very evident in our leaders. Byeline:  Indiphile Anna Headline : Umlazi Floods Sweeps Away 50 Homes,2 Toddlers Missing  MORE than 50 residents left homeless as well as two kids missing after heavy floods in Umlazi, KwaZulu Natal on Thursday ,8th of May. It started drizzling in the morning and later on heavy rain started pouring causing people to slow down driving especially on their N2, later on around 6:00 PM homes started getting flooded, resulting in two kids going missing one believed to have drowned. “I have lost all my belongings, my ID, bank cards as well as all my important documents in my home in this flood”-one affected resident said. “The government knows about this that we’re at risk staying here, our only hope is that we found our - the mother of the child missing said. Residents are still waiting for the municipality to do something to offer at least temporary homes for the affected residents, some are being assisted by the community members offering them places to sleep for the night.  The picture i
